Make a Girlfriend Day website for 1 August
National Girlfriend Day is 1 August. It is not a holiday in the sense of a day off, which is exactly what makes it good: no restaurant pressure, no gift expectation, just a date on the calendar that says 'her'. A page is the right-sized gesture, made in an evening, opened at midnight.
Where Valentine's Day is about the two of you, Girlfriend Day is about her. So the page is photos of her rather than of you both, a reasons list about who she is rather than what she does for you, and a letter about what she is like when she thinks nobody is looking.
Make it about her, not the relationship
Swap the usual 'us' photos for 'her' photos: mid-laugh, at work, with her friends, the one where she is concentrating on something and has not noticed the camera. Eight is enough, in the polaroid layout, each with a caption about what she was doing rather than where you were. The reasons block follows the same rule: ten lines about who she is, with evidence. 'You read the whole manual before touching the dishwasher' is a reason; 'you are smart' is a compliment. The header subtitle should be a line about her too, not about you or about the day. This shift is what makes a Girlfriend Day page feel different from a Valentine's page, even if the blocks are the same.
The compatibility block, rigged
The compatibility block asks the visitor to type their name and returns a score. Set it so that her name lands on 100% with a line like 'Confirmed. No further testing required', and every other name returns 3% with 'Sorry, position filled'. It is a small joke, it takes two minutes to set up, and it is the block most likely to get screen-recorded and sent to her group chat, which is the closest thing to word of mouth a love page has. Put it after the photos and before the letter so the page goes light, lighter, then sincere. If you want a second joke, add a scratch card underneath with the 'prize' for scoring 100%: dinner on you, or the blanket for a week.
The moon, the song, and the first-night details
The moon phase block draws the moon exactly as it looked on the night you met, from one date field. Next to it, the songs block with the song that was playing, or the one you both pretend was playing, and a line about it. A three-entry timeline finishes the set: the night you met, the first date, the day it became official, each with a photo. These are small blocks, and together they say the thing the reasons list cannot: you remember the details. Specificity is the whole trick on a day that is otherwise made up by a calendar company. Write the timeline captions as facts rather than feelings, 'you were wearing the green coat', because facts prove memory and feelings only claim it.
Send on 31 July, unlock at midnight
Send her the link on the evening of 31 July with a countdown showing. It opens at midnight in her timezone, so it is the first thing on her phone on 1 August, ahead of every brand posting about the day. You get an email the moment she opens it. If you are apart, this is how the day is synchronised without either of you setting an alarm. Next year, the reminder email arrives two weeks before the date with a discount on a second page, which quietly solves the problem of remembering that Girlfriend Day exists. If you are in the same city, skip the schedule and hand her your phone with the envelope on screen at breakfast; the opening moment works in person just as well, and you get to see it.
Filming the reaction, and getting one back
The Wrapped format is built to be screen-recorded: full-screen slides, big type, one block per tap. If she is the kind of person who would enjoy her reaction being filmed, ask first, then record the opening. The reply box at the end of the page lets her write or record something back, and a page like this often gets answered with one of her own on Boyfriend Day, 3 October, which is two months later and requires no hint from you. Keep the recording short and keep it between you unless she says otherwise; the page is for her, and a reaction video is only good if she wanted one. Put the 'make one back' idea nowhere on the page; it works better as something she thinks of herself.
